About Us

The Lived Experience Co. was founded by Lisa Quigley, a qualitative researcher and passionate advocate for mental health.

Lisa is a doctoral researcher based at the University of Edinburgh, where her work focuses on lived experiences of suicidality. Lisa’s research interests include obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), suicide and self-harm. She is co-author of a report on lived experiences of self-harm, commissioned by the Scottish Government which has been used to inform its world-leading Self-Harm Strategy.

Lisa has a background in workplace mental health and wellbeing, previously leading the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ Mind Matters Initiative. She is a qualified supported employment practitioner, and trained in Individual Placement and Support (IPS) at the Maudsley Hospital in London, where she led a workplace mental health programme for individuals with severe mental illness.
